The Klemantaski Collection
Stutz at Padane-Factory

In March 2005, a friend informed me about The Klemantaski Collection.

In their long list of available photos, they had listed early pictures of the Stutz automobiles,
taken at the Padane factory.
The photos show the very first prototype, built by Ghia,
the second prototype, built by Padane, later sold to Elvis Presley,
the Duplex, the very first 4-door sedan,
and some early production-models of the Blackhawk.

The Klemantaski Collection allowed me to show thumbnails of these photos.

In late March 1970, Padane had already started to build Stutz #3 and #4.

Only the first two Blackhawks had a bigger rear-window, so it's easy to identify this car as the second prototype (the first one was built by Ghia, and already finished).
When this car came to the United States, Jules Meyers sold it to Elvis Presley.
Later, the car was crashed, than restored, and today you can see it at Graceland's Car Museum.
